Compare-Audiences-Of-Social-Networks

In this article I will try to present you with information on size of the traffic you are losing every day, because we simply neglect the targeted audience on social networks. Talking on “neglecting the audience”, I don’t say that you do not use them at all, probably every one of us uses them even on the smallest level. We cannot expect that broadcasting an articles on the Twitter account will generate an endless stream of traffic on our internet project but the audience on social networks can help you in promoting your project and at the same time revitalize your website with more traffic.

Twitter - A great social network, which gives us an opportunity to quietly build audience, and even help in indexing the pages of your web-site instantly. In this social network, most visitors come for entertainment and recreation than for serious study, it is more appropriate for fun or philosophical quotes, funny stories and brief new items – that’s what interests the users of the network who use Twitter. You cannot expect that people on social networks will read the huge and boring articles, you need to offer such content to the users that will be a fun and interesting for them.

Facebook - Is a huge social network, but it has its flaws. First, a substantial part of it has a relatively young age, and still associated with this low ability to pay, so you cannot expect that such guests on your website will be able to enrich you sufficiently. The second drawback is that, most of its users come to the social network so thoughtlessly and judiciously spend time and find something new.

In general, these disadvantages can easily send to the pros in order to achieve the desired result, quite know what to present to the audience. A giant plus, which overshadows all defects – is the size of the visitors who have every chance to bring you income. With due diligence, you have the ability to reach tens of thousands of visitors here.

LinkedIn - Considered to be the optimal choice for those users who intends to increase the number of professional contacts. It turns out the number of people using this social network is much more than a contact, along with that of their age and addiction is much more suited to us, because we actually have what they offer, and unflinchingly Be creative, be clustered in a given social network and develop it further growth.

Childhood-And-ComputingIn my childhood (in the late 80s), the dream of children was mostly toys, who was at the time (or just before) should remember the options like GI Joe and Hot Wheels. Toward the end of the 80s, a revolution was announced. The United States and Japan had the first generation here loomed: electronic toys, computers and video games that worked more accurately.

The wealthy could gift their kids with firecrackers technology as the Atari 2600 (complete success), MSX (computer used as video game), TK-85 (another computer used to play). Only this time the percentage of people who owned one of these machines was so small that it was only restricted to the rich cousin of most children. Those who had the first personal computers that I cited as the TK-85 and MSX (Expert of the gradient was most famous around here) and actually used it as computer had a large base of programming, because these computers had to be programmed if needed to do something, the language was Basic, many of today are the leaders, because with the basic logic of programming that had, were far ahead of those who were only using the software.

With the popularization of computers during the 90s and hence the standard IBM-PC computers were abandoned and Windows machines took over the scene, many people acquired computers during the 90s, from 1995 the most common configuration were 486 DX-2 66 MHz with 8 MB of RAM and Windows 95. Since 1997 the Pentium took the stage, but still running Windows 95 (note that I’m talking about the popularity of them in homes and businesses that had not the year of release, remember that India was slower if compared with the technology that it has today). But it was still something for the higher class, which at the time was only 05 or 10 percent of the population, and even those who had a PC in these settings were not willing to leave their small children to be having fun with the equipment.

The scenery changed from the 2000s the computer has become almost mandatory in homes of Indians, cheap machines, and economic stability installment of sight meant that much of the population obtain their computer with reducing costs of both equipment maintenance as it meant that children then (from the 2000s) began to use the computer as a tool for entertainment, and even more because of what their parents most often do not know how to use the computer and all their resources and then allow their children to use the machine (like 80s VCRs, adults picked to program the devices to record the programs themselves, while children did with most ease). Not to mention that when you see the children using the computer mostly to play, parents felt they had at home a little genius and encouraged further use of the equipment by small miracle.

Even with the creation of the internet providers since 2000, around the same time providers have emerged offering the service, gave the kids their first contact with a large network which also culminated in the popularization of chat rooms and Messenger. As the parents of this gang were unable to connect the right computer, computer use was almost unrestricted, restricted only by the internet connection that due to the cost of telephone pulses (at the time linking all was still using dial-up internet on weekdays from 00:00 and Saturdays from 14:00). Once logged in we could access whatever we wanted, because the vast majority of people hardly knew what internet was and what it could provide even then the kids used in everything they could. When in 2005 the social networking site Orkut has had its version available in India, the thing unraveled: the Indians immediately joined the novelty (of course, all it takes very little time) and with it, brought many problems for those who used sites without restriction and chat and relationship and were contacted by malicious individuals or groups.

But we still have the problem with the education of these children, many of them grown using the computer as a unique form of entertainment, sitting in the front of the device for hours either playing or surfing the internet and excluding the interaction with the outside world, including not participating in activities of social-cultural and educational activities sponsored by the school at times in favor of staying at home or even in popular lanhouses, snooping profiles of others on websites like Facebook or by sending thousands of messages without usefulness to others known by the same virtual sites. Sometimes switches to a game in which they devotes several hours, or is making downloads of programs and music sites, but cannot find anything useful out of the virtual environment. Education and health professionals warn parents of the dangers of a life away from the real world, a child brought up this way (on the computer) can even generate fewer worries seen not want to leave the house for anything, but on the other hand will have serious behavioral problems, social and even physical because of the lack of mobility generated by this type of behavior.

Childhood-And-Computing-1

Throughout my life, I have seen several examples that showed me the problems of children who have a life focused on using the computer without any restriction. Children who had not had computer or using the one that is controlled by parents, had much greater integration both with teachers and with the classmates, discussed their opinions and were developing so much faster and more stable than children who claimed to use the computer a lot. The parents who allowed the use of the computer without any restriction, had excellent performance in computer classes, but did not communicate clearly, did not have many friends or sometimes none, had learning difficulties and not focusing on what was taught, did not like to participate in group play, showed poor acceptance by being reprimanded in case of doing something wrong.

In conclusion, what in the early 90′s showed up as the future has arrived and can now be considered including past personal computers are no longer just a reality and today are as common as something ignored by luxury, is ranked alongside the powerful television as essential in homes.

The television comes even losing too much space between youth: on television you are forced to watch what the broadcaster wants and when they wants, on the Internet it is different. You, the user, sees what you wants and how you wants and when you wants. Besides not having the regulator, not the owner nor control the youth of today have gotten used to it, now prefers to be without running out of internet television. The young lives connected, accustomed to not wait for anything, and having information at all times.

We are living in India, maybe the second computer revolution, where mobile phones are taking over the computing and Internet access. Besides we can access what we want, when we want, the way we want to still be able to do it anywhere, whether at home, at work, at school or on the street … We just have to be vigilant with children, and the influence of this in their education, but we have a society formed by millions of people connected by the internet, but separated by technology …

service-product-advertising

When creating a new product or hosting service, to come face to face with a low rate of visitation or even to boost profits, you’ve probably considered to announce the hosting company, correct? Me too. And the question of which medium to use must have crossed in your mind, as happened several times in my.

Despite having heard good and bad reviews about the various advertising services, decide to make a comparison between the most popular services and resources to be able to tell you what worked better for me. Here is how I intend to do:

What will I advertise?

I need to announce the test in order to measure conversions (people who actually hired my services). Keep in mind that the keywords are practically the same as well as my audience.

PS: The ad is referring to normal products, not promotional. The interesting thing is that, I intend to announce the same texts (if possible) in all media. Because the aim is to test the visibility, cost and conversion of ads in each half.

How much will I spend?

I thought of $ 00.00 to $ 100.00 per service. However, this value can vary since some services require a deposit or other values using different payment methods.

Where Will I Advertise?

Specific Programs

  • Adwords
  • Yahoo Sponsored Links
  • MSN Ads (even if it is cheaper ad)

Social Media

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn

Niche oriented Web Sites

  • Blogs (technology area or with large visitation)
  • Forums (technology area or with large visitation)
  • Sponsoring sites

Other

  • E-mail marketing – the mailing lists
  • Newspapers – online and offline
  • Magazines – online and offline

Other means were not inserted by the impossibility to trace the origin of the visit / conversion.

How will I track?

Each medium will have its own link Analytics or whmcs – that will do me a favor and track visits and conversions.

What will be in the report?

I want to do a weekly diary

How can you help me?

  • Indicating whether or not recommending any means
  • Sending coupons to advertise (remember that I already have Adwords account – then that coupon for new accounts not worth)
  • Offering space for me to advertise on your website / blog / forum / etc
  • Sending “money” – I can think of a way to compensate (advertising, consulting, development, etc).
  • Sharing your experience with some means

When the result comes out?

I would like to test ads for 30 days in each medium, it is logical that can be done simultaneously, but not monetarily – unless some generous soul help me. If you cannot do all the means in the range of those 30 days, I’ll try to group them by category and launch at the end of each reporting period.

And you’ve already announced your dedicated servers services somewhere? Gave the desired return? Where you announced?

Personally I’m not an SEO expert, but like all operations of websites, online activity is part of my job. One of my colleagues informed me about this topic and I was trying to figure out how best to invest for greater indexing. I must say that for a while, SEO experts have lost the plot and are at the mercy of the constant changes of “mood” of Google, with its update, which can send anyone “out of business” really in upcoming time.

This morning, I read the report about the SearchMetrics, trying to understand what are actually the factors that influence indexing of a site, and the result seems a bit ‘risky’. In short:

At least according to the research, these are the three factors that most influence the rankings on Google today. What can I say? Facebook is undoubtedly a tool that can bring traffic, in our blog statistics, Facebook is still at the first position to bring visitors every day, the number of backlinks is a fairly common metric and bright, but once again it is less than the number of Tweet.

Well, having a good activity on social networks seems to be the key to success in SEO of many portals, which invest literally thousands and lakhs of rupees in the strategy of “social networking”, I am a bit confused. Consideration to these aspects: Google should be giving more importance to the pages or links in social networks that turns out to be more interesting and therefore the value of content. But I do not think it fits unquestionably to all content types.

Twitter is another tool that, according to SEO experts, has a strong bearing on SERPs, but it is easy to see why, not by chance, the application of authorship (which I recommend for your blog or site) was even more simplified.

Honestly I do not think that Facebook is suitable for all types of content, there seem to be issues that the people of this social network do not digest, and in particular those highly technical posts do not have great success rather different story for that. Twitter is a great channel to publish even more specific content. However, my concern about the impossibility to figure out exactly what Google is willing to consider to get us in the position of pages remains the same, perhaps too many changes and too little public clarity.

What do you think?

The Big Data subject begins to draw attention. Several studies and surveys show that many companies are beginning to implement initiatives in this area. Some studies, including one recently conducted by Deloitte indicates that this trend is only in early stages of development and estimated that fewer than 50 major projects (From 10 Petabytes) are running around the world.

Remembering that we’ve talked in previous posts, we can summarize the concept of Big Data with a simple formula, Big Data = Volume + Speed + Range + Truth and Value. Volume because apart from data generated by transactional systems, we have the multitude of data generated by the objects in the Internet of things such as sensors and cameras, and those generated via social media PCs, smartphones and tablets. Variety because we are treating both structured data and unstructured text such as photos, videos, emails and tweets. And speed, because we often need to respond to events almost in real time. That is, we are talking about the creation and processing of massive data volumes.

This scenario growth of Big Data also shows that it is emerging new employment opportunities for IT professionals.

A new position called “Data Scientist” is a good example. Demand usually training in Computer Science and Mathematics, as well as the analytical skills needed to find a needle in a haystack providential data collected by the company.

“A data scientist is someone who is curious, who analyzes the data to detect trends,” said Anjul Bhambhri recently, vice president of IBM’s Big Data Products. It’s almost like a Renaissance man who really wants to learn and bring change in an organization.

We also identified that there is a demand for developers and system administrators who specialize in Hadoop tools, designed for applications with distributed data-intensive and used by well-known sites like Yahoo, Facebook, LinkedIn and eBay.

Since Google opened up the business to create pages on Google+ two weeks ago, they have started to provide basic tools for companies to enter this network. While industry analysts believe that Google+ Pages can find a profitable niche in the world of social networks among business users, for now there is a perception that Facebook could overtake Google+ when it comes to providing businesses with a place to reach the hearts of customers.

For now, there is a list of features that Google+ pages does not count, including the ability for companies to offer promotions or coupons, as well as the POSSIBILITY of hosting contests or sweepstakes. Companies in Google+ pages also cannot sell products. Many of these features are available on Facebook and now the users want them on Google+ Pages.

In July, shortly after Google has allowed the creation of pages in Google+, Facebook launched Facebook for Business which is basically a guide to assist businesses to use Facebook features targeted for business, social plug-ins and ads. Facebook has made it clear that they wanted to lure companies and took advantage of the delay in the launch of Google+ Pages. Now, months later, analysts say that it is clear that Google+ is yet to be mature.

Right now, Facebook has a more complete offer, but all this could change quickly. Google and Facebook are not exclusive choices. Many companies have a blog and a Twitter and a Facebook page. Now, they will add a page in Google+.

Many companies are entered into the world of social networking and see the audience of Google with good eyes. If Google add processes to improve the solution, it will be really useful and valuable for companies.

But first, need to address the problems that users have noticed recently. There are some real limitations on pages that make it harder for companies to use the solution the way they want. This condition can significantly reduce the adoption. For example, only one person can manage the account, so either the individual will be responsible for the company’s site or you have to share the login and password with multiple people. This is not recommended.

In considering these points, Facebook has an advantage when it comes to social network aligned with the business. But Google will need to work on changing that. On the other hand, no tool is “everything to everybody. In recent weeks, Google said that it was exactly the idea which is going forward .

The CEO of Google, Larry Page said that he wants to “transform” the company, integrating its various services with Google+. Google has taken a huge step in this direction by integrating the Google+ with Google Apps, a suite of cloud-based enterprise applications.

As many of you know that the world of SEO has changed dramatically with the Google Panda update, the algorithm of Google is always looking for new techniques to avoid any possible positioning of website based on duplicate content, poor quality content, pages with a poor  design or that its only function is to grow backlinks.

It is for this reason that, in positioning our website we must take this new Google function into account when assessing the site. One of the key measures to achieve this is to get an increase in time spent by visitors to our sites displaying our content. Until now it was very common to find well-positioned sites with poor content.

With the entry of Google Panda, it is difficult because the new algorithm introduces new measures to detect the content without interest to the visitor. To achieve this, we have to rely heavily on the introduction and reference point for social networks ( Facebook, Twitter and Google + ) to serve as a social measure. Google already appreciated this for a while, but now it has become much more important to have presence in social networks, and currently if you have no presence in these networks and not receiving visits and “like”, you will lose a lot of appreciation from Google.

Another measure is to consider the design of a more functional website. Before that Google could “understand” while the page was sufficient proof of this and there are many websites with a little care and simple design which are aesthetic but accessible from your code to Google, which had allowed good evaluation by Google. Indeed we must also be careful about the placement of advertisements on our site, as it is important that this is an orderly design and not an obstacle to visitors.

Some of the steps we can take is to avoid to publish content without any interest , you can choose from resources such as embedded videos to force the display of the same from the website. This will make web visitor stay longer for video on the website. Of course, opting for quality written content is equally valid, because what we have to clear is not so outstanding as before by direct assessment by Google but the social value of our website, directly or indirectly will most affect us at valuation.

As mentioned, a key point is the presence on social networks and social tools in general to make use of Google Panda. One is the “+1” on Google. We can add the buttons of Google +, Facebook and Twitter on our website so that our visitors can share and evaluate our content. Of course we must also allow the inclusion of comments to the extent possible and in general any function that allows users to interact and be part of the site.

Anyway… Google Panda will advance and expand its capacity, but it seems clear trend toward social value.

It is common to find texts on the Internet explaining how to run social media and the rules we must follow to do their part.

But have you ever stopped to think about the content that will generate and disseminate these spaces?

Certainly the answer is yes, but the question arises: how to do it?

In many corporate profiles, we see only promotions related products and services offered by the company, or the performance of a CAS online.

Social media, like traditional media, should convey information relevant to its readers. Never forget that besides being the voice of the company about what it makes and sells and to relate to consumers, the profiles digital work with the corporate brand loyalty can become a reference content.

Here are some tips on how to achieve these results:

The first thing to do when creating a corporate profile on any social networking site – Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube, etc., is to understand your audience. If your company has some research for public, the way out is to look into it. If not this ally, try to do the research yourself. Talk to the directors and employees who have more time for homework, search the major search engines and social media what is being said about your business and the market for its performance.

Once you understand your audience, consider how the competition is positioning itself in the online space. Make a comparison between the marks taking into account the frequency of updates, generating the content itself, suggested content from other sites, interaction, language used and partnerships.

Managing your own content, show that you have expertise. Create a corporate blog to explore this channel with information about the company, its release and clarification; make cultural promotions and contests with their readers, incorporating the blog with social media, including the blog in its strategy of sponsored links, do a survey of bloggers and opinion that may be its partners in the dissemination of content.

Disclose proprietary information on company networks and provide interesting content from other sources.

Dialogue always

Maybe, you will not receive good days of its followers in the first week you’re in social media, but over time they will see that the brand is present and begin to interact. So follow Friday (# FF) on Twitter all on Fridays, photos and short subjects that find relevant on Facebook and interact in the Linkedin groups discussions. Show that the company is mature enough to take criticism and who has their own opinion.

Respond publicly to questions and complaints. Not good to answer by sending private messages, either delete the complaints posted on the notice board of the company on Facebook, Linkedin communities or in a blog comment. If the consumer is extremely dissatisfied with the mark, he will do what he want, somehow, if his friends know about problem, this negative buzz is even worse. Transparency should always come first.

Ask for suggestions of topics to the friends of the brand in social media and respond to their feedback on their publications.

Stay updated on new technologies and language focused on Web Read books, blogs, news sites, attend lectures and converse with other professionals in the field of social media on several issues that are related to digital content.

A good content is the result of much research, study and dialogue. If you show that the brand really understands the subject that is being proposed, will certainly gain more importance in organic search and is indicated as a source of information.

After all, the content also generates loyalty.
